· healthy food,water,hydrate,H2O,Excercise

We have all heard it before …drink water, make sure that your drinking enough water! But do you really?

We recommended drinking at least 1.5 litres of good quality water a day, but there is a little more to it than drinking the water.

Firstly I would like to highlight the benefits of drinking water

Drinking your required quantity of water throughout the day may help you lose weight.

  • Regulate body temperature
  • Supports joint lubrication, in brain and spinal cord
  • Moisten tissues  like mouth, ears, and  noses
  • Protect body organs and tissues
  • Helps prevent constipation
  • Reduces burden on kidneys by eliminating waste
  • Water makes up 60% of body’s compositions
  • Delivers oxygen and nutrients  to cells all over the body
  • Allows the body to grow, reproduce and survive
  • There is no question we need water to survive. It’s a good habit to get into.
  • There are a few other points on the water that I would like to highlight.

Make sure that your water is good quality- We have a well, so I’m very grateful to have good quality. On the other hand, if you don’t invest in a filtration system for your home

Avoid drinking large amounts of water with your meals. At mealtimes, your body is preparing with digestive enzymes to break down your food, when we drink we are washing them away. Avoid drinking half hour before and a half hour after.

Flavouring your water. Choose natural flavours for your water, if you need to do so. Avoid the artificial sweeteners- Aspartame, Saccharine and Sucralose. They will always be labelled sugar-free. Opt for natural fruits and herbs like- lemon, lime, rosemary, mint, watermelon or orange. Tip get a clean jug and let the flavour of choice steep in the fridge for at least 12 hours. Kids love this. Another tip is when you are making ice cubes and pop a piece of fruit or herbs in the section and it will be great entertainment for the kids.
